Dave & Buster's Offers Summer Fun In The City!

Last Friday, C-Style was invited to preview Dave & Buster's "Summer of Games" promotion at their Gold Coast location in Chicago.  I brought along my sister, Lisa, and our friends the Miller family (Scottie, Gerri and Caleb) to find out what the promotion was all about.

We met with the General Manager, Phil, who welcomed us and introduced us to the Assistant General Manager, Marcus, who guided our visit for the afternoon.

Looking to beat the heat, Lisa and I (we arrived first) sat down for a refreshing drink.  Our well-informed server, Alfonzo, gave us a description of several choices and pointed out some of the latest offerings on the drink menu.  Lisa chose the Banana Split and I selected one of the new libations called Strawberry Watermelon Summerita.  The Summerita is also poured over strawberry flavored ice cubes, giving it a special kick.  Both drinks were delicious!

Alfonzo then brought us an order of their original Buffalo Wings to snack on while we waited for the Millers to arrive.

In the meantime, he also informed us that Nik Wallenda and his family were in the restaurant.  Wallenda, who recently performed the death-defying act of crossing over the Grand Canyon and over Niagara Falls last year, is one of many celebs who visit D & B's.  Other high-profile visitors include actor Vince Vaughn and members of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears teams.

Finally, the rest of our party had arrived, and it was time to begin the "Summer of Games."  Armed with our D&B's Power Card, Marcus showcased the new, as well as the high-performing, games that have become a staple at their game arcade.

The new games include: Temple Run, Harpoon Lagoon, Dream Raiders, Dizzy Chicken, and Dark Escape 4D. I can attest to the fact that Dark Escape 4D is no joke!  It moves, scares the heck outta you, and is a high-performance, adrenaline-pumping action-packed adventure!

We enjoyed playing and checking out some of the top performance games that Marcus pointed out to us including, Big Bars Jackpot, Dirty Driving (which is a great way to compete against your friends), Milk Jug Toss, and Super Shot.

We had so much fun playing with and against each other, especially Caleb who scored hundreds of tickets he traded in for some cool swag!  Dave and Buster's prizes are also top-notch. You can score prizes like iPhone, iPad, PS3, and XBox360!

Finally, it was time to eat and the menu did not disappoint.  I ordered The Mac! & Cheese which came with succulent morsels of tender grilled chicken. Lisa ordered the Black Jack Chicken & Ribs combo; Caleb had a bacon cheeseburger while Scottie and Gerri ordered meals on the healthy end -- Chicken & Shrimp Rockefeller and the Fire-Grilled Salmon.

Alfonzo brought us the dessert menu and Lisa and I decided to share a piece of the New York Cheesecake served with yummy raspberry sauce!

All-in-all Dave & Buster's is an experience for the whole family to enjoy. Great food, drinks, service, and most of all fun, fun, fun!

Our thanks to the Dave & Buster's team for the invite, and to Phil, Marcus, and Alfonzo at the 1030 North Clark street location.
