Foodie Fridays: Common Threads Celebrates 10th Anniversary At Chicago World Festival

Chicago-based nonprofit Common Threads will host the 7th Annual World Festival at Soldier Field's United Club on Monday, March 4th to celebrate the organization's 10th anniversary of providing school-based nutrition and health education programs to under-served communities in Chicago.

Hosted by Bravo's Gail Simmons, Hillshire Brands' Jon Harris, journalist Candace Jordan and Beam's Mindy Mackenzie, the 7th Annual World Festival is a Chicago-themed evening of celebration featuring specially prepared international cuisines by more than 60 celebrity chefs, participation by Common Threads students and a full evening of local entertainment.

World Festival VIP ticket holders will have access to a special VIP room sponsored by BMO Harris Bank where guests will have an unusual 'sneak peak' at a number of new and up-and-coming restaurants set to open in Chicago in 2013.

The evening will also feature a live fund-to-need auction, with all proceeds supporting Common Threads programs. Common Threads is also conducting a silent online auction, Feb. 19 - Mar. 12, at www.charitybuzz.com/CommonThreads.
