Katana Delivers From Start To Finish

Nestled along the Chicago River in a cul-de-sac that includes Chicago's House of Blues lies Katana.

This Japanese robata and sushi bar offers an elevated experience, all for the diners delight.

We came for the "Friday Night Flights" (which offers seven to choose from) including the Suntory Whisky Flight we experienced.

The flight perfectly complimented the Izakaya Feast selected for us by manager, Mark Longo.

Dishes included Sumono (spicy sesame cucumbers), Asupara Niku Maki (rib eye wrapped asparagus with soy mirin sauce, Suzuki (Chilean Sea Bass), Kokitsuji (lamb chops with soy garlic mashed potatoes), Yaki Niku (short ribs in Asian marinade) and for dessert, luscious molten "volcano" cake!

Not only were the flights on point, the food delicious and plentiful (although the seafood was slightly more impressive than the beef items) the music was bumping!  I and my guest seat-danced through the majority of  the courses!

While Katana may not be everyone's taste or as wallet-friendly as some of its neighbors in the area, it is well worth the trip.  Do not deny yourself the pleasure of this experience--you will certainly find yourself plotting your next visit.

Katana is located at 339 N. Dearborn Street in Chicago.
