What's better than a margarita on a hot summer day? Celebrating National Margarita Day in the middle of February! Friday, February 22nd is the official holiday for the drink (and, no, you cannot take off work for this)!
Instead, you can imbibe margaritas at several margarita-sanctioned establishments here in Chicago, and nationally as well.
Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville restaurants nationwide will be
celebrating all things margarita for National Margarita Day on February 22nd. This year's holiday will feature an array
of margarita-related activities, specials, contests and giveaways guaranteed to
be the perfect mix of sweet and sour.
As part of the
one-day celebration, Margaritaville will host Margaritaville University ,
a complimentary margarita-making class from 3pm to 4pm. At the university, Margaritaville
bartenders will teach students how to make specialty Margaritaville margaritas.
After mastering mixing, shaking, stirring and sipping, all graduates will
receive a diploma.
In addition to the complimentary drink lessons,
Margaritaville locations are inviting guests in for their new tradition, The
National Margarita Day Toast. At 5 O'Clock, a Master of
Ceremonies will lead those gathered in a toast to the official beverage of
Margaritaville.
Margaritaville Chicago restaurant is located at 700 E. Grand #118 at Navy Pier. For more information on Friday's activities call (312) 496-3842.
