You know her as the actress, producer, and the cute five-year old kid from E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial. Now, she is Drew Barrymore, the vintner. Barrymore has ventured into the wine business with the creation of her signature Barrymore Wines collection.
The first bottle released under the Barrymore name is a Pinot Grigio, inspired by her love of Italy. Barrymore Pinot Grigio is a straw yellow, full-bodied wine with a slight almond after-taste and an intense fruity aromatic scent.
To create the first offering, grapes were used from various Pinot Grigio vineyards throughout the Friuli Venezia Guiuilia and Trentino regions of Italy. With a respect for the traditional techniques of the classic winemaking craft, this highly customized debut bottle is a mixture of old world customs and modern day technologies.
Barrymore's vision is that her collection of wines be shared with family and friends. "I hope this first bottle in the Barrymore Wines collection accompanies great food, music, and conversation - all facets of life's great culture," she says.
Indeed, Barrymore's Pinot Grigio can be paired with light pastas, chicken, seafood, mild cheeses and vegetables.
